Miss South Carolina Daja Dial to speak at Black History program

2015 Miss South Carolina Daja DialMiss South Carolina 2015 Daja Dial will be the guest speaker for the Black History Month Celebration to be held Monday, Feb. 15, at 7 p.m. in the auditorium at Gaffney High School.

The Clemson University student is the third African American to be crowned Miss South Carolina. She was a Top 7 finalist for the Miss America title in September 2015. She is a native of Jonesville, South Carolina.

The Rev. Antionette Gardner, a radio personality at WFGN 1180 will host the program. The Gaffney High School Honor Choir, Young Starz of Elite Dance, Shady Grove Praise Dance Team, Marsheka Wray and Ursula Anderson and other groups from the community are scheduled to perform.

The public is invited to attend. Admission is one or more canned good items, which will be donated to the Indian Hill Baptist Church Soup Kitchen.
